Great staff and food. I had the catfish broccoli casserole and yams. The catfish was thick firm and cook thoroughly with the right amount of coating. Crisp on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside. Broccoli casserole was good but they have better sides. The yams were delicious like Thanksgiving. 👍 They are a popular location so don't be upset if there is a line. It actually goes pretty quick. It's worth the wait.
A hole in the wall. That's where you can find great home cooked style meals. Good fried chicken and meatloaf. Outside seating is available. So you can bring your furry friends.
I’ve been eating at Mrs. B’s for several years but hadn’t been here lately so I decided to swing by and man was this plate good! The catfish was hot, seasoned, and so flavorful. The greens were a tad sweet and yummy! The yams weren’t too sweet and I couldn’t definitely taste a hint of cinnamon. I loved it!
Love the fried chicken, rice w/gravy and greens. My plate came with cornbread and a sweet tea. Hot as hell in the dining room, no A/C. Fans all over the place on high. Dude is passed out in a food coma across from me. I knew this was my kinda place when I walked in there. Simple no nonsense menu. Great food choices with plenty of side options too. Definitely coming back for the meat loaf or catfish next time.
Really good food. Had the fried catfish, fried tilapia, and fried chicken. All of them were good and fresh, but fried catfish was the table favorite. The fried chicken was a bit greasy and heavy. Lemonade was a tad sweet, but the sweet tea was delicious.
Omg, if you're ever in Montgomery on a Sunday or Wednesday you have got to stop here and get the ox tails! Greens are on point, Mac and cheese outstanding, portions are huge. I started eating before I remembered to take a picture 😅. 10 out of 10, staff is super welcoming and friendly, sweet tea comes with your meal and it was true southern style. If you NEED out of this world soul food one to Mrs. B's.
Passing through on a roadtrip, and this place was one of my favorite restaurants of the entire trip. Everyone is so friendly and cool, the food is incredible and well-priced. A regular helped me with my order and I was super impressed. True southern hospitality and class. Fried catfish was the bomb!! I ordered the chitterlings - maybe don’t do that. My bad!!! This is the definition of southern soul food. Food so good that it could start a fight if someone snatches your cornbread.
This place makes me so happy. I have been here 4 times for lunch in about a week and a half, because it reminds me of my grandmothers. I, or someone in my family, has had turkey wings, fried chicken, oz tails, meatloaf, smothered pork chop, and essentially all of the side orders. The collard greens and rice and gravy are probably my favorites. The ladies who work here are lovely. They are set up for takeaway as well if that is what you need.
